New Delhi, (thestates.news) Terming self reliance as the only way forward
to deal with the threat of COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday
announced an economic package of Rs 20 Lakh crore which will take care of the
needs of all sectors and all sections of society.
In his address to the nation, the PM, hinting at a ‘Lockdown 4’, however, said
that the ‘lockdown 4’ will be redesigned and have altogether different rules
compared to the previous lockdowns.
Terming self reliance as the only way forward for the country, the PM said,
‘there is only one way forward and that is self-reliance. Today when the entire
world is in crisis, we will have to further firm our resolve.’
Announcing a Special Economic package, the PM said, ‘I announce a special
economic package today. This will play an important role in the ‘Atmanirbhar
Bharat Abhiyan’. ‘
The PM said that the announcements made by the government over COVID, decisions
of RBI and today’s package totals to Rs 20 Lakh Crores. ‘This is 10 per cent of
India’s GDP,’he said.
The PM said needs and concerns of all sections of society and all sectors of
industry would be addressed in the economic package.
‘ Land, labour, liquidity, laws, all have been stressed upon in the package. It
will help cottage industries and MSMEs,’the PM said.
He said that beginning Wednesday, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will
announce details of special economic package.
Hinting at a ‘Lockdown 4’, the PM, however, said that the ‘lockdown 4’ will be
redesigned and have altogether different rules compared to the previous
lockdowns.
‘The fourth phase of #lockdown will be completely redesigned, with new rules.
Based on the suggestions by states, information related to lockdown 4 will be
given to you before May 18,’ the PM said.uni
