Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the people to practice yoga asanas like
‘Pranayam’
as it strengthens the respiratory system that Covid-19 attacks.
In a message commemorating the 6th International Day of Yoga, he stressed on
yoga’s ability to boost to immunity in the times of
Corona, saying various yoga asanas help boost our immunity.
“Covid-19 specifically attacks our respiratory system, which gets
strengthened by ‘Pranayama’ or breathing exercise,” he
said as he appealed to people to learn various Pranayam techniques to combat
the Covid-19 crisis.
The theme for this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga at home.’ However,
due to the Covid-19 outbreak, no public mass event has been organised this
time, which the Prime Minister has led in the past.
The world was realising the need of yoga even more due to Corona, he noted,
saying many patients were getting benefits by doing yoga.
Yoga, he said, has emerged as a force for unity; it does not discriminate and
goes beyond race, colour, gender, faith and nations.
Yoga also helped in boosting the confidence to deal with adverse situations, he
underlined in his message on the occasion.
“Let us make ‘Yoga at home, yoga with family’ a part of our lives,”
the PM urged, pointing out that the spirit of ‘Karmyog’ is woven into the
Indian way of thinking.
“If we can fine tune our chords of health and hope, the day is not far
away when world will witness the success of healthy and happy humanity. Yoga
can definitely help us make this happen,” Mr Modi
He reflected on Yoga, saying it enhanced our quest for a healthier planet and
had emerged as a force for unity and deepened the bonds of humanity. (uni)(mediasaheb.com)
