RAINFALL LIKELY OVER NORTHEASTERN STATES FROM JUNE 24 ONWARDS: IMD

New Delhi, (thestates.news) National Weather Forecasting Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the convergence of strong moist southerlies/southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal over the northeast and adjoining east India is very likely during the next 5 days.
‘With the above favourable scenario, the enhanced rainfall activity is likely over the northeastern states from June 24 onwards,’ it said in a press released issued on late Monday night.

“Light to moderate widespread rainfall is very likely over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal,Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next five days”, IMD said.uni
