District-level Winners to Receive Prizes and Entry into State-Level Competition
Last Date for Students to Submit Original Poems and Stories is December 30
Raipur, (thestates.news)| Ahead of the Raipur Literature Festival scheduled next month in Nava Raipur, poetry and short story competitions will be organized for college students in every district of Chhattisgarh. Winners at the district level will receive awards, and they will also qualify for the state-level competitions. The best story and poem at the state-level will be honoured at the Raipur Literature Festival. District-wise nodal officers are being appointed to ensure smooth conduct of the competitions.
Students wishing to participate must submit their original poems and stories to the office of their district’s nodal officer by December 30, 2025. Submissions received after this date will not be considered. The Raipur Literature Festival, to be held from January 23 to 25, 2026 in Nava Raipur, aims to celebrate the state’s rich literary legacy and encourage greater youth participation in creative writing.
For the district-level competitions to be held under Raipur Literature Festival, the first prize for both poetry and story categories will be Rs 5,100, the second prize Rs 3,100, and the third prize Rs 1,500. Additionally, three consolation prizes of Rs 1,000 each will be awarded in both categories. District-level first-prize entries will compete at the state level, where the awards include Rs 21,000 for the first prize, Rs 11,000 for the second, and Rs 7,000 for the third. At the state level too, each category will carry three consolation prizes of Rs 5,100.
For participation, poems must be original, unpublished, typed, and a minimum of eight stanzas. Stories must be original, unpublished, typed, and limited to 1,200 words. Participants must be enrolled in a college or university, and their age must not exceed 40 years. They are required to attach their student identity card or a certificate issued by their principal. The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding. The results will be announced in January 2026, and winners will be felicitated during the Raipur Literature Festival on January 23, 24 and 25, 2026.
While submitting their entries, students must mark “Yuva Hindi Kavita-Kahani Lekhan Pratiyogita” at the top of the poem or story and on the envelope. Award-winning poems and stories will be compiled and published, and the anthology will be released on the stage of the Raipur Literature Festival.
