Raipur Literature Festival: Dialogue on India’s Intellectual Legacy Sparks Meaningful Exchange of Ideas

Raipur (thestates.news) | The Raipur Literature Festival, one of the city’s most prominent cultural events, is steadily building a distinct identity not only in Chhattisgarh, but also within India’s wider literary and intellectual landscape.  Among the many sessions organised, a special session on the theme ‘Bharat ka Boddhik Vimarsh’ stood out, encouraging deep reflection among intellectuals, youth, and the wider audience.

The keynote address was delivered by renowned thinker and author Shri Ram Madhav, who presented Indian consciousness in a contemporary context through a balanced and logical argument. Shri Ram Madhav said that for any living nation, intellectual discussion functions as its lifeblood. Linking India’s ancient knowledge traditions with modern science and global politics, he underlined that Indian thought is not only original, but also grounded in reason.

He also challenged the belief that intellectualism is confined to Western perspectives. He said India’s independent thinking carries the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, while also possessing the capacity to understand and respond to modern realities. During the session, his arguments left a strong impression not only on scholars, but also on young participants.

Members of the audience also shared their views, turning the atmosphere into a meaningful exchange that balanced tradition with an outlook towards the future.

As the session concluded, one key message stood out clearly: disagreement holds value only when it remains rooted in reason and expressed with civility.

The discussion at the Raipur Literature Festival emerged not merely as an exchange of views, but as a reflection of a renewed culture of constructive, self-aware, and positive intellectual engagement. It also reaffirmed that Chhattisgarh’s cultural strength extends beyond folk traditions to thoughtful and serious discussions on ideas.
