Raj Govt not paying heed to infants deaths: Smriti

New Delhi ( thestates.news) | Minister for Women and Child Development and Textiles Smriti Irani on Friday reacted sharply to the deaths of more than 100 infants in a local hospital in Kota, Rajasthan, saying the state Government apparenlty was not paying heed to it.
Asked to respond to the infants’ deaths in Kota, the minister told reporters here that “It hints at the fact that even after continuous deaths of children, no attention was paid by Rajasthan government towards it. The government needs to answer whom would they penalise for this?”
She was referring to the death toll of infants at JK Lon hospital in Kota which climbed to 104 on Thursday, according to reports here.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, however, defended his Government’s handling of the situation claiming that the number of deaths has been the lowest compared to the past five-six years. , (UNI)
