petitioner, a national executive member of (#Bhartiy_Janta_Party) , to approach its Registry for listing the
Shaheen Bagh protests matter for a hearing.
A bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde, asked the lawyer,
Shashank Deo Sudhi, counsel for petitioner, Dr N K Garh, to approach the Apex
Court Registry for listing his matter to ensure a hearing in his petition.
“You approach the Apex Court Registry and pray for urgent listing of your
(petitioner) Petition,” CJI Bobde asked the petitioner’s lawyer, Deo Sudhi
today after he mentioned the matter for an urgent hearing in the case.
The petition said the Shaheen Bagh protests were causing severe inconvenience
to the common people as the protesters had blocked entire vehicular and
pedestrian movement from the road connecting between two important cities i.e.
Delhi and Noida.
Petitioner Garg sought a direction to the Centre, police and state government
to take immediate steps to remove protesters from Shaheen Bagh who have now
been protesting for more than two months against the Citizenship Amendment Act
(CAA) by blocking the road connecting Delhi to Noida.
There is an urgent need for guidelines to restrict such protest on extremely
