Mumbai (Thestates.news) | Extending losses for the third straight session on Thursday, the BSE Sensex dropped 203.22 points to settle at 75,735.96 on weak Asian Market. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 19.75 points at 22,913.15. The equity market remained under pressure throughout the session, as the Sensex slipped 203.22 points to open at 75,672.84.
It was tanked 476 points at 75,463.0, days low, before closing at 75,735.96, sliding 203.22 points from its previous close. The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,923.85 and 22,812.75 points respectively.
The stocks that kept the market weak were Financial services by 0.25 pc, Bankex by 0.50 pc and Focus IT by 0.10 pc. The Mid cap rose 1.18 pc and Small cap by 1.32 pc. In 30 scrips, 14 advances while 16 declined. The losers were HDFC Bank by 2.35 pc to Rs 1686.40, Maruti Suzuki by 1.81 pc to Rs 12,450, Tech Mahindra by 1.77 pc to Rs 1656.30, HCL Technology by 1.33 pc to Rs 1688.20.
The gainers were NTPC by 3.38 pc to Rs 325.35, M & M by 3.01 pc to Rs 2840.30, Adani Ports by 2.85 pc to Rs 1111.55 and Tata Steel by 1.58 pc to Rs 138. The Asian market too slid as Hang Seng fell 1.63 pc, Strait Times too by 0.17 pc. Even, Jakarta Composit declined by 0.10 pc. (UNI)
