Supreme Court transfers Agnipath petitions to Delhi High Court

New Delhi,( The Supreme Court transferred all the petitions challenging the Agnipath scheme to the Delhi High Court. A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud said that the petitioners from other courts can, if they wish, apply for intervention in the matter in the Delhi High Court. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that petitions are pending in many high courts, including Kerala, Patna, and Delhi. Three petitions were filed in the Supreme Court regarding the Agnipath scheme. The Central Government had filed a caveat in the Supreme Court. The Central Government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court urging that no unilateral order should be issued without hearing the Government’s point of view.(HS)
