‘Sushasan Choupal’ held under Mahua Tree: CM Surprise Visit to Chuktipani, Warm Welcome by Baiga Community

Chief Minister Reviews Ground-Level Implementation of Welfare Schemes, Issues Stern Warnings to Officials

Raipur (thestates.news) | Under the statewide ongoing Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today paid an unannounced visit to the Baiga-dominated village of Chuktipani in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, arriving by helicopter without prior intimation. Villagers were initially astonished to find the Chief Minister suddenly among them, but surprise quickly gave way to heartfelt hospitality. They welcomed him with garlands made of gulmohar flowers, a basket of tendu fruits, and a bouquet crafted from local flowers and leaves.

Seated under the shade of a mahua tree in the courtyard of the village middle school, Chief Minister Shri Sai convened a *choupal* with the residents. Addressing the gathering, he said, “I have come to your doorstep to personally understand how the government is functioning. Please speak without hesitation about any difficulties you are facing.”

During the interaction, the Chief Minister noticed an overflowing water tank and expressed serious displeasure over the wastage of water. Acting on a complaint by the villagers, he sternly reprimanded the sub-engineer of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, saying, “Either do your job, or be prepared for suspension.”
