Tendupatta collection commences in Chhattisgarh : Target set to collect 16.71 lakh standard sacks in the current year

Raipur (the states. news) Tendupatta collection work has been started in Chhattisgarh, in the current year 2021. Collection target of 16 lakh 71 thousand standard sacks Tendupatta has been set for the current year in the state. As per the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Forest and Climatic Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, all the necessary preparation for systematic collection of tendupatta in the state has been made. It is noteworthy that Rs 4 thousand per standard sack has been decided to be the wage rate for tendupatta collection in year 2021. Nearly 13 lakh tribal and forest dweller tendupatta collector families in Chhattisgarh will be directly benefitted from tendupatta collection work. In this collection season, Rs 668 crore will be distributed as wages to the tendupatta collectors in the months of May and June. 

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had recently directed during the district-wise review of COVID situation that the collection work of minor forest produce in the state should also be continued, so that the people in need do not have to wander for employment and they get to earn a surplus income. Officials concerned have been asked to ensure compliance to the guidelines and necessary precautions of COVID-19 during the collection of minor forest produce. In this regard, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar has also instructed Principal Secretary Forest Mr. Manoj Pingua and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi to take necessary action in this direction in all the forest divisions.(the states. news)
