The stock market continues to boom, Sensex opens at a historic high of 41116

New Delhi, (thestates.news) : Continuation of the boom in the stock market. On Thursday, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex opened at 41,115.75, a historic high above 41 thousand.

The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened with a gain of 27.30 points at 12,132.10. Nifty Bank has touched the level of 32,000. The Sensex was trading at 41,054 at 9.30 am. About 494 stocks rose and 245 declined on the BSE.

Among the top rising stocks were ITC, Yes Bank, Bharti Infratel, Cipla, ICICI Bank, SBI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC. Bank, pharma, IT sector saw good buying, while the metal and energy sector witnessed a sell-off. The rupee opened at 71.32 on Thursday with a strength of three paise against the dollar.

It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, the Sensex had gained nearly 200 points to close at 41,020.61, crossing 41 thousand. Similarly, the Nifty gained 63 points to 12,100 points. This is the first time the SENSEX closed beyond the 41 thousand marks. (HS)
