A Welcome Change to Come Out of the Success of Anti-Naxal Campaign
Raipur (thestates.news) | The 76th Republic Day celebrations marked a historic milestone in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. Villages that once lived under the shadow of fear and terror imposed by Naxals are now treading the path of peace and development. As a result of the remarkable success of the anti-Naxal campaign led by Chhattisgarh Government, a new environment of security and trust has been created in these villages. This year, for the first time, residents of 26 villages proudly hoisted the tricolour and celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh Government’s anti-Naxal campaign has rewritten the narrative of security and development in the Bastar division. By establishing security centres in remote and interior regions of Bastar, peace has been restored. These villages, once deeply influenced by Naxal dominance, lived in fear, unable to participate in national festivals or even lead a normal life. Today, the efforts of the anti-Naxal campaign have not only brought peace but also sparked new hope among the localites.
Over the past year, 26 new security centres have been established in Naxal-affected areas of Bastar division. These centres have strengthened law and order while serving as hubs for development. In villages across Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, and Kanker districts, residents celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the national flag for the first time, participating enthusiastically in the festivities.
At these security centres, police and security personnel, along with local villagers, unfurled the tricolour. Discussions on the significance of Republic Day were held, and sweets, chocolates, and other items were distributed among villagers and children.
It is noteworthy that new security camps have been established in Bijapur district at Gundam, Futkel, Chutwahi, Kondapalli, Zidpalli, Watewagu, Karregatta, and Peediya; in Narayanpur district at Kasturmeta, Maspur, Eirkabhatti, Mohandi, Horadi, Garpa, Kachhapaal, and Kodliyar; in Sukma district at Tekalgudem, Puvarti, Lakhapal, Poolanpad, Tumalpar, Raigudem, Golakunda, Gomguda, and Mettaguda; and in Kanker district at Panidobir.
Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range), Shri Sundarraj P., emphasized that the collective efforts of Chhattisgarh Government and security forces have led to the restoration of peace and democracy in Bastar division. The security centres established under the anti-Naxal campaign have played a pivotal role in steering Naxal-affected regions toward peace and development.
During the main Republic Day event at Lalbagh Parade Ground in Jagdalpur, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma hoisted the national flag. Extending his greetings to the people of the state, Shri Sharma lauded the success of the anti-Naxal campaign and appreciated the ongoing efforts to ensure security and development in the Bastar division
