Raipur (thestates.news) Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant ji paid tribute to Iron Man of Independence Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary remembering his works dedicated to the country.
Dr. Mahant said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a famous freedom fighter and the first Home Minister of independent India. He is famous by the nickname of ‘Sardar Patel’. Sardar Patel was an Indian barrister and famous politician. He was one of the leaders of the ‘Indian National Congress’ during India’s freedom struggle. After India’s independence in 1947, he was Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister, Information Minister and Minister of State for the first three years. After independence, the integration of more than five hundred princely states was one of the biggest problems. Through skilful diplomacy and military intervention when needed, Sardar Patel succeeded in bringing most of those princely states under the tricolor.
Tell me, Sardar Patel was honored with the title of Iron Man or Bismarck of India because of all these achievements. He was posthumously awarded India’s highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ in the year 1991.
