PWD issues approval following clearance from Deputy CM Arun Sao
Raipur (thestates.news) |The Public Works Department (PWD) of the Chhattisgarh government has granted administrative approval of ₹59.55 crore for the reconstruction of the Koni-Mopka Bypass in Bilaspur district. The sanction has been issued under the provisions of the state budget for the financial year 2025–26.
The condition of the nearly 14-kilometre-long road had deteriorated severely over the past several years. The bypass experiences heavy traffic flow from NTPC Sipat, sponge iron factories, coal washeries, and dense urban commuters, which led to significant damage. Citizens and public representatives had been demanding its reconstruction for a long time.
