109 arrested in UP for Agnipath violence

Ballia, ( thestates.news) : The Uttar Pradesh police have filed a case against 300 unidentified persons in connection with Friday’s violent demonstration against the Agnipath plan. A total of 109 people have been arrested and imprisoned. According to the DM, magistrates and police have been deployed in all crucial places, including the Ballia railway station. For next two months, Section 144 has imposed in the district. Four cases have been filed in the Agnipath violence in Aligarh. Jitendra Singh, the in-charge of the Jattari outpost, filed a case against 500 unknown and 66 identified demonstrators. Protesters set fire to at least 11 vehicles, including the car of ADG Zone Agra. More than 40 demonstrators have been detained by police so far. Four cases have been filed at three police stations in Varanasi, with 27 demonstrators arrested.(HS)
