Raipur (thestates.news) | Master Ranbir Soni, a 14-year-old, was brought to MMI Narayana Hospital in a serious condition, unconscious and showing symptoms of fever and jaundice. He had come from Rajim . After a thorough examination by Dr. Anupam Mahapatra, a specialist in stomach and liver diseases, it was found that jaundice had affected his brain, causing his unconsciousness.

Further tests revealed that he had Hepatitis A and Scrub Typhus, a disease caused by insect bites. Due to his serious condition, he was admitted to the ICU for treatment, which included necessary tests and ventilator support. Ranbir was experiencing liver failure, a very critical condition that
sometimes requires a liver transplant.

The hospital staff kept his family fully informed about his treatment options and condition, and with their consent, he received care from various teams, including critical care, neurology, and gastroenterology.

After three days of treatment, Ranbir regained consciousness and started talking to his family on the fourth day. He was then moved to a general ward and later discharged. Hepatitis A is a
foodborne illness which is very common in rainy season that can lead to liver failure in less than 1% of cases. Timely treatment can save lives.
