Pune (thestates.news) | MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT), Loni-Kalbhor, Pune has received accreditation from the Data Science Council of America (DASCA), becoming the first institution in Maharashtra to secure the recognition across a comprehensive portfolio of artificial intelligence and data science programmes.
The accreditation covers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes spanning artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain and intelligent systems. These domains collectively represent the core technological framework of modern data science and AI education, enabling students to develop capabilities across data engineering, algorithmic modelling, secure infrastructure and real-world deployment.
DASCA accreditation is awarded to degree-granting institutions that demonstrate alignment with globally benchmarked standards in curriculum design, academic rigour and industry relevance. University officials said the recognition highlights MIT-ADT’s integrated academic approach aimed at preparing graduates for the evolving demands of the data-driven global economy.
Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Founding President of MIT-ADT University, Pune said the achievement reflects the institution’s vision of building an education ecosystem that integrates technology with human values while nurturing globally competent professionals. Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President and Pro-Chancellor, noted that the milestone underscores the university’s commitment to innovation-led education and global academic benchmarking.
Vice-Chancellor Hon. Prof. Dr. Rajesh S. added that the accreditation strengthens the university’s focus on interdisciplinary and future-ready programmes aligned with industry and research needs. Prof. Dr. Virendra V. Shete, Dean – NEP, Ranking and Accreditation, described the recognition as both an honour and responsibility in advancing globally aligned AI and data science education.
The accreditation also enables deeper engagement with global initiatives such as the World Data Science & AI Initiative, supporting faculty development, research collaboration and Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies.
