New Delhi (thestates.news)| Targeting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP over the Swati Maliwal assault row, Union Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday alleged that AAP is not only corrupt, but its women workers are not safe in their own CM’s house. Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, Smriti Irani said, “The very fact that Arvind Kejriwal goes on campaign with an assaulter is an indication to you as to where his loyalties lie”.
She further added that with the assaulter in the company of Arvind Kejriwal, can you honestly expect him to do justice to anybody? The question is, while a lady was being assaulted in his house, who was present? What was done by Arvind Kejriwal?…On Delhi HC denying bail to Former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia, Smriti said, “The court not only accepted but told that Manish Sisodia misused the government machinery to do corruption amounting 100 crore rupees”.
“The court also observed that Manish Sisodia also destroyed the evidences. It also observed that Manish Sisodia may also trouble the witnesses. Delhi HC rejected the bail application” the BJP MP added.”This judgement says that there have been more beneficiaries of the corruption in AAP. The people of Delhi should know this”, Irani said.
The Delhi High Court on May 21 rejected the bail plea of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the corruption and money-laundering cases lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) respectively in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.The AAP leader was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023 for his alleged role in the Delhi liquor policy “scam”.
