Raipur (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today reviewed the implementation of Forest Rights Act, 2006 in the state. He directed the officials concerned to prepare an effective action plan for the management of forestland distributed under Community Forest Rights and Community Forest Resource Rights.
Officials have been directed to run a special drive to redress the claims of community forest resource rights, and to organize Gram Sabha Awareness Campaign for this purpose. Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar, Advisors to Chief Minister Rajesh Tiwari and Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu also attended the meeting held at Chief Minister’s residence office.Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department, D.D. Singh told in the review meeting that so far, four lakh 54 thousand 415 individual forest rights letters, 45 thousand 847 community forest rights letters and 3731 community forest resource rights letters have been distributed in the forest areas of the state, thereby allotting more than three lakh 70 thousand hectares, one lakh 98 thousand hectares and 15 lakh 32 thousand hectares respectively to the forest dwellers. He informed that so far, three lakh 81 thousand 667 individual forest rights letters, 36 thousand 674 community forest rights letters and 2965 community forest resource rights letters have been registered in the records of revenue and forest departments. About five lakh 15 thousand hectare area that has been distributed through one lakh 83 thousand 604 individual forest rights letters have also been uploaded on Bhuiya portal.
