Raipur (thestates.news) Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended a felicitation ceremony organised by Chhattisgarh State Panchayat Secretary Association commemorating the ‘Panchayat Sachiv Diwas’. The event was organised at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur on July 7. Chief Minister assured that the state government is attentive to the interests of panchayat secretaries and has already met their expectations since taking office. He shared that the association’s demand for government recognition would be fulfilled soon and the government would form a committee to implement this decision. Association officials expressed their gratitude by presenting the Chief Minister with a garland.
During his address, the Chief Minister shared his personal experience of serving as a panchayat member for five years and as an unopposed sarpanch. He emphasised that country’s development is rooted in panchayats, with all central and state government schemes being implemented through these local bodies. Shri Sai stressed the crucial role of sarpanches and secretaries in village development. He stated that the successful implementation of all schemes depends on panchayat secretaries’ efforts. He praised their work and appealed to them to strive for even better performance.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also addressed the event, commending Chief Minister Shri Sai’s effort in fulfilling numerous promises in a short period. He emphasised the significant role of panchayat secretaries and highlighted Shri Sai’s extensive experience from panchayat to parliament level.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Shri Vijay Sharma, stated that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s government has promptly fulfilled Prime Minister Shri Modi’s guarantees after coming to power in Chhattisgarh. He emphasised that government schemes are implemented through panchayat secretaries, shaping government’s image. New government has promptly paid the arrears of panchayat secretaries and compensated them for the 55-day strike period.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade highlighted that government has always met the demands of the Secretaries’ Association. She stated that village secretaries play a crucial role in conveying local issues and demands to higher authorities. All central and state government schemes reach the grassroots level through panchayat secretaries.
Durg MP Shri Vijay Baghel described Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s government as “Sushasan ki Sarkar.” He praised the Chief Minister for listening sensitively to everyone’s demands and fulfilling them. Shri Baghel appreciated vital role of panchayat secretaries and highlighted their contribution to bringing government schemes to every village. The president of the Panchayat Secretary Association, Shri Upendra Singh Paikra, and other officials were present.
