Raipur ( thestates.news)| Indian professional boxer Vijender Singh on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office. He held discussion with the Chief Minister on the possibilities of promoting sports especially boxing in Chhattisgarh. Vijender Singh is the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal. He urged Mr. Baghel to organize a professional boxing match in Chhattisgarh. On his request, Chief Minister assured to organize a professional boxing match in Raipur. In this match, Vijender Singh will compete with an international boxer. Vijender Singh had won a bronze medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing. Vijender Singh presented boxing gloves to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. The Chief Minister honored Vijender Singh by presenting him a State ‘Gamcha’ and a memento.
