Uttarkashi,(thestates.news) | Gates of the highly revered Patit Pavani Ma Ganga and Yamunotri holy temples in Uttarakhand have been opened for the devotees on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Ma Ganga’s Doli reached Gangotri Dham at 8:15 on Tuesday morning. After the worship, Kapat of Gangotri Dham were opened for the devotees with Vedic chants on the festival of Akshaya Tritiya at 11.15 am heralding the commencement of the holy pilgrim of the Char Dham Yatra.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, reaching the Gangotri Dham, wished for the prosperity of the state by seeking the blessings of Ma Ganga. Dhami said that the intention of the government is that the Char Dham Yatra should be made comfortable. On limiting the number of devotees, he said that there would not be any such limit. “Devotees will not be stopped. If the number increases more than expected, the situation will be handled,” he said.
Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan, Director General of Police Ashok Kumar, Bhatwadi chief Binita Rawat, Municipal Corporation Chairman Ramesh Semwal, District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela, Superintendent of Police Arpan Yaduvanshi, Gangotri Mandir Committee President Harish Semwal and Secretary Suresh Semwal and thousands of devotees were present on the occasion.In Yamunotri, the Doli of Ma Yamuna reached Yamunotri Dham with her brother Shani Maharaj, where the gates of Ma Yamuna temple were opened for devotees at 12:15pm.(HS)
