Chhattisgarh accelerates Electrification in Naxal-Affected Regions

State Government Prioritizes 24×7 Power Supply, Renewable Energy Growth, and Technological Advancements – CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur  (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply, expanding electrification in remote regions, and accelerating the adoption of renewable energy.

Chairing a high-level review meeting of the Energy Department at Mahanadi Bhavan,  Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized the importance of integrating solar energy, leveraging advanced technologies, and implementing strategic power management solutions to enhance efficiency and consumer convenience.

“Chhattisgarh is rapidly progressing towards energy self-sufficiency by expanding solar infrastructure, embracing modern technology, and ensuring reliable electricity access for every household, including those in Naxal-affected and remote areas,” said CM Sai.

Electrification Gains Momentum in Naxal-Affected Areas

Highlighting the success of the Niyad Nellanar Scheme, Chief Minister Shri Sai lauded the unprecedented progress in electrifying Naxal-affected villages, calling it a major step towards bridging the rural-urban development divide.

“Electrification is more than just access to power—it is a gateway to socio-economic transformation. It fosters education, healthcare, business opportunities, and most importantly, empowers communities,” he stated.

He directed officials to fast-track the electrification of remaining unelectrified villages, ensuring that every household has access to electricity, further integrating these communities into the mainstream economy.

Consumer-Friendly Initiatives: Relief in Electricity Bill Payments and Digital Payment Push

Recognizing the financial challenges faced by electricity consumers, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced special relief measures for overdue electricity bill payments.

To further enhance consumer convenience, Chief Minister Shri Sai directed authorities to expand digital payment services by introducing mobile alerts and secure online payment links, ensuring effortless bill payments for all consumers.

Strengthening Energy Infrastructure Through Technological Innovation

CM Shri Sai emphasized the urgent need for modernizing Chhattisgarh’s power infrastructure and implementing smart energy management solutions. Reviewing various state and central government initiatives, he instructed officials to ensure a reliable, uninterrupted, and high-quality power supply across the state, minimize Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses by deploying advanced energy monitoring systems,  implement a comprehensive strategy to eliminate technical and commercial inefficiencies, expand policy support for the large-scale adoption of renewable energy solutions.

A Green Future: Expanding Solar Energy for Long-Term Sustainability

Underlining the vital role of solar energy in Chhattisgarh’s long-term energy vision, CM Shri Sai directed officials to significantly scale up solar power adoption across all sectors. He instructed the Energy Department to accelerate solar infrastructure development across urban and rural landscapes, promote residential, commercial, and industrial adoption of solar energy, introduce incentive-based policies to attract investments in clean energy.

The high-level review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Singh, senior officials from the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, and key representatives from the Energy Department.
