Chhattisgarh Forest Department all geared up for efficient tendu leaf collection in all divisions
Nearly 7 lakh 48 thousand standard bags of Tendu leaves (Tendupatta) have been collected in Chhattisgarh during the current 2023 collection year, which is nearly 45 percent of the total target set for the state. The goal is to collect 16.72 lakh standard bags of tendu leaves by the end of this year. The collection work is being carried out continuously under the guidance of the Forest Minister, Shri Mohammad Akbar.
As per information provided by Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association Managing Director Shri Anil Rai, a total of 38,579 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected in the Bijapur forest division and 85,799 standard bags in the Sukma forest division. Similarly, the Dantewada forest division has collected 15,630 standard bags, Jagdalpur has collected 195,446 standard bags, South Kondagaon has collected 17,853 standard bags, and Keshkal has collected 24,577 standard bags of tendu leaves. The Narayanpur forest division has collected 17,369 standard bags; East Bhanupratappur has collected 39,663 standard bags; West Bhanupratappur has collected 11,874 standard bags, and Kanker has collected 28,312 standard bags.
Similarly, in the Rajnandgaon forest division, 30,581 standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected, and in Khairagarh, 14,781 standard bags have been collected. 15,159 standard bags have been collected in Balod, 19,401 standard bags in Kawardha, about 19,228 standard bags have been collected in the Dhamtari forest division, 73,537 standard bags in Gariaband, 57,484 standard bags in Mahasamund, and 11,832 standard bags in Baloda Bazar. The Bilaspur forest division has collected 12,580 standard bags, Marwahi has collected 3,106 standard bags, Janjgir-Champa has collected 4,936 standard bags, Raigarh has collected 38,908 standard bags, Dharamjaigarh has collected 56,177 standard bags; Korba has collected 29,989 standard bags, and Katghora has collected 26,744 standard bags of tendu leaves. Similarly, the Jashpur forest division has collected 18,761 standard bags, Manendragarh has collected 4,410 standard bags, Surguja has collected 7,357 standard bags, Balrampur has collected 1,519 standard bags, and Surajpur has collected 3,183 standard bags of tendu leaves, respectively.
