Chhattisgarh Government takes an important decision to provide special exemption in payment of property tax

Last date for depositing property tax extended till 30th April

On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and the initiative of Urban Administration Minister Dr. Dahria, people of the state now have additional one month  to deposit their taxes

Raipur (thestates.news)| In interest of the people of the state, Chhattisgarh Government has taken an important decision  to provide special exemption in the payment of property tax.  As per this decision, the last date for submission of property tax and returns in the state has been extended from March 31 to April 30.  On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and on the initiative of Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shiv Dahria, an additional opportunity of one month  is being provided for the convenience of the people.

 It is worth mentioning that in view of the challenges due to the pandemic (COVID-19) in the past few years, an extension is being provided for the submission of property tax. Earlier the last date for submission of property tax and returns was March 31, 2023, the exemption deadline for the same was then decided to be 15 April 2023, and now it has been further extended to 30 April 2023.
 In a letter issued in the context by the Urban Administration and Development Department to all the Collectors, Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officers, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, it is stated that in case people visit the office to pay property tax, physical distancing protocol should be followed.  Likewise, during the doorstep collection of property tax as well, employees of the civic body and citizens should maintain physical distance and online payment should be encouraged.
