Chhattisgarh Government’s gift to employees before Diwali: a 5 percent hike in Dearness Allowance

Finance Department has issued an order in the context, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

Now those falling in the seventh pay scale bracket will get 33 percent DA and those in the sixth pay scale will get 201 percent DA

Raipur (thestates.news)| As a Diwali gift in advance, Chhattisgarh Government has announced 5 percent hike in the DA (Dearness Allowance) for its officers and employees. On the instructions of Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Finance Department, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Finance Department has issued an order for hike in DA today. The increased rate of DA will be effective from the current month of October. The amount of increment in DA will be paid in cash from October 1, 2022. With the increment of five percent in DA, those who receive salary under the seventh pay scale in the state will get 33 percent dearness allowance. This order of increase the dearness allowance will also be applicable for UGC, AICTE and contingency salary employees.

State government has increased the dearness allowance by 12 percent for the salary earners from the sixth pay scale. Now they will get 201 percent dearness allowance instead of 189 percent dearness allowance. The Finance Department has issued a circular regarding the increment in dearness allowance to all the departments of the state government, Chairman, Revenue Board, Bilaspur, all Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners and Collectors. It is noteworthy that from August-2022, DA was being paid at the rate of 28 percent to the officers and employees of the state. At the same time, those in the sixth pay scale were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 189 percent.
