Raipur (thestates.news): Chattisgarh State Congress President Mohan Markam has left for Delhi on Saturday morning to attend a meeting called by the Congress High Command to brainstorm on the names of Rajya Sabha candidates. The names of candidates will be decided in this meeting. Congress sources say that the names of both the Rajya Sabha candidates of the state will also be announced by late evening.
Completion of tenure of two state MPs Ramvichar Netam and Chhaya Verma will be on June 29. Therefore, elections are to be held on two seats, for which nominations have to be filed on May 31. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on June 1. Whereas the nomination will be on Friday. Voting will be held on June 10 from 9 am to 4.30 pm. Counting of votes will take place from 5 pm onwards.(H.S.)
