Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel offers prayer to the deities ‘Gaura-Gauri

Raipur (thestates.news) Continuing the annual tradition of participating in customary rituals, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Janjgiri village and Kumhari of Patan block today and offered prayers to ‘Gaura-Gauri’ and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.

On this occasion, Birender Thakur performed the customary ritual of whipping the wrist of Mr. Baghel with a ‘Sonte’(a stick). It is a popular belief that during the ‘Gaura-Gauri’ Puja, being whipped with a ‘sonte’ turn away evils and unpleasant situations, and brings prosperity. He takes part in this customary ritual every year.

After reaching Janjgiri, Chief Minister greeted the people on Diwali. He wished that the ‘festival of lights’ light up the lives of people. He said,” I feel very happy to come amongst you and share the joy of Diwali with you every time”.
He also participated in the ‘Gaura-Gauri’ Puja in Kumhari. He greeted the people on Diwali and wished them for their happiness and prosperity. He also take a tour of the city and met with people. Everyone gave him a warm welcome. He also enjoyed the music of traditional ‘Gadwa Baja’ at Kumhari. The whole city gathered in the streets on this auspicious occasion and people were dancing and enjoyed the occasion.
