CM Bhupesh Baghel performed ‘Bhoomipujan’ of Lakshman Jhula in Thakurain Tola on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri

Raipur  (The States. news) Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday dedicated various construction works worth Rs 31 crore 63 lakh to the residents of the village Thakurain Tola in Patan development block of Durg district, on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.

These construction works include  ‘Lakshman Jhula’ to be built at a cost of Rs 19 crore 40 lakh and the embankment of Kharun river to be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore 75 lakh. He also performed the Bhoomipujan of a glazing unit to be built at a cost of Rs one crore 40 lakhs in Sonpur. The unit will be beneficial for boosting employment opportunities and income of the potters. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the community irrigation scheme of CREDA in Thakurain Tola. With the launch of this scheme, water will reach in the fields of farmers in Sikola and Thakurain Tola, through ponds. Apart from this, he also inaugurated various works related to health sector worth Rs 6 crore 86 lakhs.

Launch of “Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana”

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched “Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana” to provide financial assistance to the first two daughters of labor families. He handed over cheques of Rs 20,000 each to 16 beneficiary daughters. Under this scheme an amount of Rs 20 thousand each will be given to the first two daughters of the beneficiaries registered in Chhattisgarh Building and other construction workers welfare board. The amount is being given for the education, employment, self-employment and marriage of the daughters.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel also performed Bhoomipujan of ‘Lakshman Jhula’, which is going to be built at a cost of Rs 19 crore 40 lakh in Thakurain Tola. This 225 meters long Lakshman Jhula will make Lord Shiva Darshan easy for the devotees. Thakurain Tola is an important religious place in Patan area for the devotees of Lord Shiva.

A large crowd gathers here on the occasion of “Sawan Somwar”, however, devotees face a lot of difficulty in ‘Darshan’ due to high water level in the Kharun River. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had assured the devotees during Maha Shivratri that Laxman Jhula would be built here. It is worth mentioning that on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, a huge fair is organized in Thakurain Tola and the construction of Lakshman Jhula will increase the footfall here and help in developing this area as a major tourist spot.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and performed “Bhoomipujan” of infrastructure worth Rs 6 crore 86 lakh for health facilities in Patan block. He also performed Bhoomipujan of Model Rural Research Health Unit in Jith, which is going to be built at a cost of Rs 2 crores. Apart from this, he inaugurated the Oxygen Gas Plant at the Community Health Center of Patan built at a cost of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh and performed Bhoomipujan of the staff quarters to be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore 2 lakh. Along with this, he also inaugurated a ten bed isolation center constructed at a cost of Rs 37 lakh. Besides, he also inaugurated the Sub Health Center constructed at Jamgaon (M), Belhari, Achanakpur.
