CM Bhupesh Baghel performed customary rituals at Jagannath Temple of Gayatri Nagar to mark the commencement of ‘Rath Yatra’

Chief Minister prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness of the people of the state

At the onset, Chief Minister performed the ritual of carrying Lord Jagannath’s idol on his head all the way to the chariot

Chief Minister also performed Chherapahara (sweeping in front of the chariot with a broom made of gold) ceremony before the Rath Yatra

Raipur (thestates.news) | On the occasion of the commencement of Rath Yatra today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel performed customary rituals at Jagannath Temple of Gayatri Nagar and prayed to Lord Jagannath, Bhaiya Baldau and Subhadra for peace, prosperity and happiness of the people of the state. At the onset, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel performed special puja and havan, thereafter he carried Lord Jagannath’s idol on his head and took him to the chariot. He also performed the ritual of ‘Chherapahara’ (sweeping in front of the chariot with a broom made of gold).

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel extended greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Lord Shri Jagannath’s Rath Yatra. He said that Lord Jagannath is reverred by the people of Chhattisgarh, and the festival of Rath Yatra is celebrated in the state with great zeal and fervour.
