CM Shri Chouhan pays tribute to Dr. Rajendra Prasad on his death anniversary

Bhopal (thestates.news)| Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tribute to the first President of India and great freedom fighter Dr. Rajendra Prasad on his death anniversary. CM Shri Chouhan garlanded his portrait in the auditorium located at the residence office and paid floral tributes.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was one of the prominent leaders of the Indian independence movement. He also contributed significantly in the making of the Indian Constitution. Often he is mentioned respectfully with the address of ‘Rajendra Babu’. Dr Rajendra Prasad was born on 3 December 1884 in Jiradei village of the then Saran district (now Siwan) of Bihar. He obtained a doctorate degree in law. He became the first President of the country on 26 January 1950. He again became the President in the year 1957 and remained in this highest position till the year 1962. After this, he lived in Patna Bihar Vidyapeeth and spent his life doing public service. He passed away on 28 February 1963 in Patna.
