75 Youths from Chhattisgarh to Represent the State at National Youth Festival
Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker, and Ministers Extend Best Wishes to Chhattisgarh’s Participants
Raipur (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has extended his best wishes to the youth from Chhattisgarh participating in the National Youth Festival 2025, urging them to showcase their talent and bring pride to the state. He stated that their efforts would contribute not only to realizing the vision of a developed India but also to establishing Chhattisgarh as a developed state.
The National Youth Festival, held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, will witness 75 young talents from Chhattisgarh representing the state in New Delhi. These participants will perform in front of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on January 11 and 12, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, showcasing their vision for a developed India by 2047.
Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh encouraged the youth to perform exceptionally and uphold Chhattisgarh’s reputation, stating, “Let the phrase ‘Chhattisgarhiya Sabse Badhiya’ resonate among the youth from other states.”
Sports Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma highlighted the state’s efforts in nurturing talent, saying, “Youth is the strength of India. Chhattisgarh provides numerous opportunities for them to hone their skills. Seventy-five of our youth will represent the state at this prestigious event.”
Over 80,000 youth from Chhattisgarh were engaged in various events organized by the state’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department, including the Youth Dialogue held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, Raipur, on December 26-27, 2024. Out of 3.26 lakh registered volunteers on the My Bharat Portal and students from schools and colleges across the state, 80,000 participated in the online quiz. Of the 80,000 participants, 6,103 qualified for the second stage, where 635 submitted essays on 10 themes related to India’s development. A rigorous selection process narrowed the field to 228 state championship participants, who presented their vision for a developed India through PowerPoint presentations evaluated by 12 subject experts.
Following the state championship held in Raipur, a total of 45 participants were selected for the National Youth Festival. In addition, 30 more participants were chosen based on their cultural performances in folk songs, folk dance, poetry, storytelling, painting, science exhibitions, and oratory. A “sending off” ceremony was held for the participants selected in the state championship to send them to New Delhi.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLAs Shri Kiran Deo, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Indra Kumar Sahu, and Shri Anuj Sharma, as well as senior officials including Sports Secretary Shri Himshikhar Gupta and Director Smt. Tanuja Salam along with other departmental officials and employees were present on the occasion.
