Raipur (thestates.news) | Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence on September 17. Chief Minister Shri Sai extended a warm welcome to Minister Shri Kumaraswamy, presenting him with a shawl and a memento.

In their discussions, Chief Minister Shri Sai and Minister Shri Kumaraswamy covered a range of topics, focussing on boosting production at SAIL and NMDC. They also emphasised the importance of strengthening coordination between these two public sector undertakings and the state government. Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted the need to expedite the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of both SAIL and NMDC, with a particular focus on enhancing skill development programs for local youth in the Nagarnar region to improve employment prospects.

It is noteworthy that Minister Shri Kumaraswamy, on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, arrived in Raipur after visiting the Nagarnar Steel Plant in Bastar and the Bhilai Steel Plant.

SAIL Chairman Shri Amarendu Prakash, NMDC CMD Shri Amitava Mukherjee, Secretary of Mineral Resources Department Shri P. Dayanand, Chief Minister’s Secretaries Dr. Basavaraju S. and Shri Rahul Bhagat, and Bhilai Steel Plant Director Shri Anirban Dasgupta were present.
