CM Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday welcomed women from across the state to the Teeja-Pora festival at his official residence

Raipur (thestates.news) | “Today, my home is the maternal home of all of you sisters. Your visit to your brother’s home is a matter of great joy and good fortune for me,” Shri Sai said, addressing the gathering of women and girls.

The Chief Minister said Teeja-Pora is closely linked to Chhattisgarh’s soil, family ties, agriculture, livestock and folk traditions. He said the state’s festivals helped preserve its cultural roots and strengthen bonds between generations.

The residence was decorated to recreate the setting of a Chhattisgarhi village, with bullock carts, traditional Nandi-Baila figures, folk handicrafts and rural-themed installations. Women took part in ‘fugdi’, tug-of-war and musical chairs competitions, while mehendi stalls, swings and folk performances added to the celebrations.
