Defence Minister changes ‘Make in India’ slogan to ‘Make for the world’ for American companies

New Delhi, (thestates.news) | Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on a five-day visit to the US, called upon the heads of American aerospace companies in Washington DC to take advantage of the policy initiatives in India, to rapidly move from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for the world’. Singh will participate in the 4th India-US 2 2 Ministerial Dialogue alongwith External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on April 11 in Washington DC.

The high-profile delegation will also be a part of the virtual meeting between US president Joe Biden and PM Narendra Modi prior to the “2 2” Foreign and Defence ministerial meeting to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific D

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh went on a five-day US visit, late on Saturday night, to strengthen bilateral ties with the US. According to the Defence Secretary’s Office, he met the heads of American aerospace companies Boeing and Raytheon. He called upon these companies to rapidly move from ‘Make in India’ to ‘Make for the World, to take advantage of policy initiatives in India.

Main objective of this visit of the Defence Minister is to participate in the 4th India-US 2 2 Ministerial Dialogue in Washington DC.

The defence minister tweeted, The visit to the United States will give me an opportunity to hold talks with @SecDef and @SecBlinken alongside @DrSJaishankar on ways to deepen the India-US strategic partnership. Looking forward to fruitful interactions during the visit.

The defence minister is visiting the United States from April 10 to April 15 to attend the Fourth India-US 2 2 Ministerial Dialogue in Washington DC. He is expected to visit US Indo-Pacific CommandINDOPACOM headquarters in Hawai and meet US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin separately at the Pentagon, to discuss defence cooperation, including defence industrial cooperation and capacity building through military-to-military ties and other officials.(H.S.)
