Delegation of district panchayat presidents pay courtesy call on CM Mr. Baghel

Expressed gratitude for the increase in honorarium of the officials of District Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram Panchayat and for the provision of District Panchayat Development Fund and Janpad Panchayat Development Fund Scheme

Raipur  (The States. news) | Delegation of panchayat representatives paid courtesy call on CM today and thanked him for the increase in the honorarium of the office-bearers of District Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram Panchayats and for the provision of District Panchayat Development Fund and Janpad Panchayat Development Fund scheme in the budget of the financial year 2022-23.

It is noteworthy that in the recently approved State budget, honorarium of District Panchayat Presidents has been increased from Rs.15 thousand to Rs.25 thousand, that of District Panchayat Vice-Presidents from Rs.10,000 to Rs.15 thousand. Likewise, honorarium of District Panchayat members has been increased from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.10,000 per month. Similarly, honorarium of Janpad Panchayat Presidents has been increased from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.10 thousand, honorarium of Janpad Panchayat Vice-Presidents increased from Rs.4 thousand to Rs.6 thousand and that of Janpad Panchayat members from Rs.1500 to Rs.5 thousand, while the Sarpanch’s allowance has been increased from Rs.2 thousand to Rs.4 thousand. The allowance of Panch candidates has been increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 per month.

Rs 22 crore has been provisioned in the budget under District Panchayat Development Scheme, including Rs 15 lakh for District Panchayat Presidents, Rs 10 lakh for Vice-Presidents, and Rs four lakh per year for the members. Moreover, Rs 66 crore has been provisioned in the budget under Janpad Panchayat Development Fund Scheme, which includes Rs 5 lakh for Janpad Panchayat Presidents, Rs 3 lakh per year for Vice-Presidents and Rs 2 lakh per year for the members.

Delegation of District Panchayat Presidents included Anita Chandra, Janjgir, Usha Patel, Mahasamund, Lekhmi Sonu Chandrakar, Mungeli, Sona Deshlahara, Balod, Shivkala Kanwar, Korba, Kanti Sonwani, Dhamtari, Rakesh Verma, Balodabazar, Arun Singh Chouhan, Bilaspur, Sonu Chandrakar, Mungeli, Chhatrapal Singh Kanwar, Korba, Yashwant Chandra, Janjgir along with Man Singh Deshlahra and other public representatives.
