Educate Children to Value Water as a Sacred Resource and Avoid its Waste : Kailash Vijayvargiya

Programme held in Dewas under Amrit Sanchay Abhiyan

Bhopal (Thestates.news)  Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya emphasized the importance of educating children about the value of water and avoiding its wastage and should never be wasted. He stated that if this message is fully embraced, Dewas could become a model city for the nation. Minister Vijayvargiya made these remarks while addressing the Amrit Sanchay Abhiyan at Malhar Smriti Mandir in Dewas. The event was attended by MLA Shri Arun Bhimawat, Mayor Smt. Geeta Agarwal, and other local public representatives.

Urban Development Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that there will be a need to plant as many trees as possible for water conservation. He informed that 51 lakh trees have been planted in Indore so far this season with public participation. Shri Vijayvargiya said that a Peepal tree delivers 10 thousand to one lakh liters of water to the ground. He informed that work will be done to install STPs in urban bodies on the banks of Narmada. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya also planted saplings in Malhar Smriti Mandir under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan. In the programme, MLA Smt. Gayatri Raje Pawar said that earlier Narmada Maiyya water had to be brought from Indore to Dewas. Now due to the construction of dam on Kshipra river, water is reaching up to the third floor in Dewas. She said that by next year we have to save one thousand crore liters of rain water. National Co-Organisation Secretary Vigyan Bharti Shri Praveen Ramdas also addressed the programme.

Collector Shri Rishabh Gupta informed that Amrit Sanchay Abhiyan began in Dewas 100 days back. With the co-operation of everyone, we have achieved the target of saving 225 crore litres of water. He informed that under the campaign, the work of Boribandhan is being done in the district. Soak pits are being made in 104 villages around Kshipra river. Encroachment is being removed from around the river and plantation is being done. User groups are being formed for fish farming in the ponds of the district.
