Guest Lecture on the topic “Data Warehousing” for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The session was conducted online on Microsoft Teams platform on 11 th April 2022 at 2:00 pm. The session was supervised and coordinated by Vivek Kumar Soni, Assistant Professor – Department of IT and Shashank Girepunje, Assistant Professor – Faculty of Computer Science. The Keynote Speaker of the event was Mr. Suvanwes Rath, Assistant Professor – Faculty of IT, Kalinga University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The webinar began by welcoming all participants and dignitaries to the event. Suvanwes Rath commenced his session by giving an informative account of the importance of new technologies advancing the world at a very fast pace. With the help of a Power point Presentation, he explained the various topics of Business Intelligence notifying the students with many emphasised references. He expresses how Data warehousing is making a positive difference in Data Management systems, especially analytics. Data warehouses exist exclusively for the purpose of performing queries and analyses, and they frequently hold vast volumes of old data. A data warehouse is a form of a data management system that is intended to facilitate and assist Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics operations.
The audiences gain massive insightful knowledge through the discourse and were very eager to know more about the Data warehousing advancements. The session was a success and Suvanwes Rath has indeed heightened the curiosity of students. The session ended with a vote of thanks given by Vivek Kumar Soni. The discussion was both educational and engaging. The activity had gone off without a hitch. The session was well-received and students showed an interest in participating in such instructive webinars in the future.
