Raipur (thestates.news)| The Governor, Ms. Anusuiya Uikey called on the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi today. The Governor informed the Prime Minister about the present situation of the state while discussing various problems of the state along with the tribes in Chhattisgarh. He requested for the implementation of MESA law in the urban areas falling under the Fifth Schedule. Also said that with the implementation of MESA law, tribes will get their constitutional rights. Apart from this, he discussed about making rules regarding PESA law for rural areas. During the discussion, the Governor apprised the Prime Minister about the problems of the tribes. Ms. Uike apprised the Prime Minister about the quantitative errors in the caste names of tribes and said that it is making it difficult for eligible persons to obtain caste certificates. The Governor also requested for an early decision on this subject.
Governor Ms. Uike said that during her stay in different districts of the state, she interacted with the tribes there, saw and understood their problems. He discussed with the Prime Minister Shri Modi and told the need to take many decisions regarding the development of the tribals of the state. He requested that the universities located in tribal dominated districts should be upgraded as Central Tribal University so that tribal communities here can get benefit. During the discussion, Ms. Uike told that there is also a need to preserve the art culture of the tribes of these areas. For this, he requested that these tribes should be researched and documented so that their culture can be recognized throughout the country. Governor Ms. Uikey has also requested Prime Minister Mr. Modi to give a special package for proper development of tribals living in Bastar and Surguja divisions. He said that after getting the special package, education and health related facilities will be expanded in these areas, youth will get employment and tribal community will get better development.
Ms. Uike also discussed with the Prime Minister Mr. Modi about the Anganwadi workers, Urban Social Workers (USHA) and ASHA workers of the country and said that these workers are diligently performing their work in the rural areas of the country including the state. They have been working continuously even during the Corona period. While appreciating the work of these workers, Ms. Uike requested Mr. Modi to increase their honorarium as well as to consider their stabilization.
The Governor thanked Shri Modi for including four districts of Purvanchal Chandauli, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sant Ravidas Nagar in the tribal districts of Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion, Governor Ms. Uike honored the Prime Minister with a memento and shawl.
