Governor Shri Harichandan inaugurated three wards of Bilaspur District Hospital equipped by Indian Red Cross Society

Red Cross Society receives commendation from Governor for health and social work

Raipur (thestates.news)| Governor Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan attended a programme organized by the Indian Red Cross Society at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee University campus in Bilaspur on Wednesday. During the event, the Governor inaugurated three wards at the district hospital: the HDU, Children’s Ward, and NRC, which were well-equipped by the Bilaspur branch of the Indian Red Cross Society. Collector Shri Saurabh Kumar presented a cheque of about Rs 1.95 lakh as Bilaspur district’s state contribution to the Governor. The Governor appreciated the Red Cross Society for its commendable work in the health and social sectors.

In addition, the Governor felicitated the employees of Jan Aushadhi Kendra CIMS for receiving the Best Jan Aushadhi Kendra award in 2023, Nikshay Mitras, who adopted a TB patient, as well as five voluntary blood donors. He also visited the health camp and blood donation camp organized by the Indian Red Cross Society.

It is noteworthy that the Indian Red Cross Society has adopted and equipped the HDU, Children’s Ward, and NRC Ward of Bilaspur District Hospital, creating a homely environment for children receiving treatment there. The society has installed ACs and Smart TVs in all three wards.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee University Vice Chancellor Shri ADN Bajpai, Indian Red Cross Society Chhattisgarh President Shri Ashok Agrawal, and Bilaspur Collector and Red Cross Society President Shri Saurabh Kumar were among those present on the occasion.
