Raipur(The States. news) . The Health Department of the State Government has given instructions for proper monitoring and extensive precautions in view of the new variant of the corona virus Omicron found in South Africa. The department has issued a circular to all the collectors giving detailed guidelines for speedy detection and prevention of new variants of Covid-19. Setting up of help desks at all the three airports of the state, Raipur, Bilaspur and Jagdalpur, as per the guidelines of the Central Government, taking information related to the screening of those coming from abroad, Kovid-19 test report, vaccination and after coming to India, Quarantine and Corona symptoms. Accordingly necessary action has been asked to be taken.
The Health Department, in coordination with the State Surveillance Unit, has instructed all the districts to take information about the people coming from abroad on international travel every day. Persons who have not completed their seven-day quarantine period after coming to India have been asked to ensure that the seven-day home-quarantine is followed. On the eighth day of these people getting the RTPCR test done and the report coming positive, the sample was sent to WGS. Instructions have also been given to send it for testing (Whole Genome Sequencing).
The department has asked all the districts to increase the number of Covid-19 tests for prevention and quick detection of new variants. All the districts have been asked to ensure corona testing as per the set target. For the identification and monitoring of new variants, at least five percent of the samples that come positive in the RTPCR test daily to every district are sent to WGS. Instructions have been given to send it for investigation. The Health Department has asked all the districts to take necessary action to achieve 100% target of corona vaccination. Along with this, the collectors have been instructed to do wide publicity for following the habits of Kovid Appropriate Behavior like wearing masks, mutual distance and washing hands from time to time.
