IIT Bhilai & University of Siegen Ink MoU to Launch International Sensor Research Hub

Bhilai (thestates.news) | In a landmark initiative to bolster Indo-German academic and technological cooperation, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Siegen, Germany. This strategic partnership paves the way for collaborative research, academic exchange, and the launch of a Joint Centre on “Sensors” to be established at IIT Bhilai.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the University of Siegen and witnessed the presence of dignitaries from both institutions. Dr. Ramanuj Banerjee, representing the Indian Embassy in Germany, lauded the collaboration as a vital milestone in advancing bilateral ties in science and technology.

A key feature of this MoU is the creation of a Joint Centre for research in sensor technologies, which will be jointly managed and operated by leading experts from both IIT Bhilai and the University of Siegen. This centre is envisioned as a state-of-the-art hub fostering innovation in fields such as healthcare, smart infrastructure, and environmental monitoring.
Prof. Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, emphasized the importance of international collaborations in empowering students and researchers with global perspectives. “This partnership will enable access to advanced infrastructure and technical expertise, nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence,” he said.
The collaboration is expected to generate interdisciplinary research breakthroughs and contribute significantly to global academic and industrial ecosystems.(S-PIB)
