Now every parent wants their kids to play too.
CM Chouhan was addressing the announcement ceremony of Youth Games 2022 held in New Delhi on Thursday. In fact, the state of Madhya Pradesh has been entrusted with the hosting of the 5th Khelo India Youth Games-2022. This was announced by the union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Anurag Thakur at a function held in New Delhi. State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Neesith Pramanik and other dignitaries were present on this occasion. In the function, the players of Madhya Pradesh gave a wonderful, unforgettable presentation of Malkhamb, which was highly appreciated by all the guests present in the program.
Chouhan said that India is now doing wonders in sports. We are also making every effort to encourage sports in MP. Now MP has 11 academies for 18 sports and the children of our academy are doing wonders. He said that we tried to set up an international level shooting academy in Madhya Pradesh. We have built stadiums and mini stadiums for our players to get sports facilities in the academy, but facilities are available in the district as well. With the academy and the stadium, we have made excellent coaching arrangements for the players.
He said that on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, we also organize sports competitions for grandparents, maternal grandparents, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. There was a time when MP could not find its name even in national games competitions. Today I am happy to share that this time our players have brought 66 medals and we are the overall champions in Malkhamb.
CM Chouhan said that our illustrious PM and union Ministers Anurag Thakur and Nisith Pramanik have given us the opportunity to organize Khelo India. This will create a new revolution in the direction of sports in Madhya Pradesh. He said that MP is a wonderful state! There is immense potential for forest wealth, mineral wealth, tourism. The temple of Sanchi, Bhimbaithka, Khajuraho, Orchha is the Mahakal Lok of Lord Shri Mahakal. We have become the Tiger State, we have become the Leopard State and now we have also become the Cheetah State.
