Srinagar, (thestates.news)| Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that the road infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) will be equal to the United States of America. Talking to media persons in Srinagar on Monday he said that within three to four years the road instructure in Jammu and Kashmir will be constructed equivalent to the roads of America. “We will construct such a type of road in J&K that will be equivalent to the roads of America within three to four years”, he said.

He said news resorts and industries are coming up in J&K will enable the local populace to get employment. Gadkari said the road connectivity by various means from Srinagar to Kanyakumar would be completed before 2024 and it will help to increase the footfall of tourists by three to four times. He said this will also help to increase the economy of J&K.

He said the various kinds of fruits including Apple and other handicrafts items could be sent to other parts of the world very easily when road connectivity would be completed. He said the people used to go for holidays to Switzerland. But I told Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that our Kashmir is more beautiful than Switzerland…a heaven on the earth.

Adventure sports resorts and other tourist related activities would be introduced in a big way in Jammu and Kashmir. The Lieutenant governor has identified 13.5 acres of land where we are going to construct shops, malls and other infrastructure where the products of Kashmir including food would be put available for the visiting tourists, he said.
