Raipur (thestates.news)| To accelerate industrial development in Chhattisgarh, a significant
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Jindal Steel Chhattisgarh
Limited, the 500 MW Solar Power Plant, the 2400 MW Thermal Power Plant, and the state
government for the establishment of a steel plant with a capacity of 7.5 million tons per
annum (MTPA). A proposed investment of ₹75,000 crore will be allocated for this project.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai and Mr. Rajat Kumar,
Secretary and Coordinator of the State Investment Promotion Board, Commerce and
Industry Department, along with several officials from the industrial sector.
This project is expected to aid in the creation of local employment and strengthen the state’s economy. Mr. Pradeep Tandon of Jindal Group stated that they are committed to promoting industrial infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence that this steel plant would produce high-quality steel and create new development opportunities for the local community.
The government has also acknowledged this MoU as a significant step towards industrial
development in the state. Such industrial investments will help realize our goal of making
Chhattisgarh a global industrial hub.
The establishment of this steel plant and power plants is set to begin soon and is viewed as
a crucial initiative for the development of the state and for improving the living standards of
local residents.
