Run public awareness campaign for sickle cell anaemia and breast cancer – Governor
Raipur (thestates.news) | Chhattisgarh Red Cross Society Chief Executive Officer Shri M.K. Raut and other officials met Governor Shri Ramen Deka at Raj Bhavan today and presented him with an album of Junior Red Cross Jamboree held in Durg last month. Today, on the occasion of AIDS Day, the Governor was also honoured by the Red Cross team by putting a badge on him. Red Cross Society Branch Durg President and Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary informed the Governor about the various activities organised at the Jamboree.
Governor Shri Deka sought information about the work being done for identification and treatment of sickle cell anaemia and breast cancer in Chhattisgarh. He directed the Red Cross to run a campaign to create public awareness about these diseases. He said that one district should be identified and a survey of patients suffering from sickle cell anaemia should be conducted there. Similarly, to identify breast cancer patients, one district should be identified and a survey should be conducted there so that people can get medical facilities on time and their health can improve.
On this occasion, Red Cross officials, Junior Red Cross counselors and Junior Red Cross members were present.
