Kalinga University Celebration National Science Day

Kalinga University is committed to strive for excellence in teaching, innovation research for knowledge creation and also provide enhanced and integrated training to the students. National Science Day was celebrated at Kalinga University on February 28. This event was organized by Faculty of Science based on the theme “Global Science for Global Wellbeing.” Session was inaugurated by Dr. R. Shridhar Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University along with Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Asha Ambhaikar by lighting the traditional lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Shridhar motivated students to develop business models for the betterment of society with the help of science in his speech. Dr. Sushma Dubey, Dean of Life Science encouraged the students for innovative research in her speech.

Science models on various aspects of science were presented by students from various departments. Students also prepared poster based on the theme Climate change and Sustainable Development. Short reels were made by students with social messages. A lecture on Yoga & Naturopathy: Panacea for integral health was delivered by Dr. Dhananjay Jain and Dr. Rajesh Manik focusing on health benefits of fruits and green vegetables.

In the post lunch session importance of yoga for healthy living was described through a Sanskrit Drama directed by Dr. Rajesh Manik and performed by students of Kalinga University. The fashion designing department presented a fashion show based on the theme of science. Students also enjoyed the different types of food displayed on the food stall.

Finally students were given medals and certificates for best performance in various activities they have participated. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Shilpi Shrivastava Officiating Dean and HoD Applied Science. All teaching and non-teaching staffs from Faculty of Sciences supported for the smooth conduct of the entire program.
