Kalinga University organized a special lecture to commemorate Prem Chand Jayanti

Raipur (thestates.news) |Under the auspice of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Kalinga University celebrated the birth anniversary of Hindi Katha Samrat munshi Prem Chand by organizing a captivating lecture on the topic “Prem Chand ka Rachna Sansar” (Prem Chand’s
Literary Universe). The event was presided over by Dr. Ajay Kumar Shukla, Head of
the Hindi Department, and featured the distinguished presence of Dr. Vinita Dewan,
Chief Speaker.

The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding of the statues of Maa Saraswati and Katha Samrat Prem Chand, graced by the presence of Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Shilpi Bhattacharya, keynote speaker,
Dr. Vinita Dewan, and program coordinator, Ms. Marieta Jagdalla.
During her speech, Dr. Vinita Dewan emphasised the lasting relevance of Prem Chand’s literary works, not only as an integral part of Hindi language and literature, but also as a timeless source of inspiration for solving many socioeconomic concerns in our nation.
His name has become immortal in Indian literature, and his literary contributions will always be cherished.
Presiding over the event, Dr. Ajay Kumar Shukla, Head of the Hindi Department, shed light on the life and prolific works of Prem Chand, who enriched Hindi literature with more than three hundred stories and classic novels. Renowned as a master storyteller, Prem Chand moved away from fantastical tales of royalty and instead painted vivid pictures of real-life events and relevant circumstances in his writings.
The seminar was skillfully conducted by Ms Marieta Jagdalla, Assistant Professor of
English, and concluded with a vote of thanks extended by Dr. A. Vijay Anand, Proctor
of Kalinga University.
Distinguished attendees at the event included the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Shilpi Bhattacharya, Mr. A.K. Kaul, Dr. Vineeta Dewan, Dr. Anita Samal, Dr. Shraddha Hirkane, Dr. Papri Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Sushma Dubey, Dr. Vafi Ahmed Khan, Dr. Manoj Mathew, Mrs. L. Jyoti Reddy, Ms. Archana Nagvanshi, Mr. Ashish Samal, Ms. Jessica Minz, Mr. Gaurav Tamarkar, Mr. Piyush Das, Mr. Tekram Sahu, and Mr. Santosh, along with all the esteemed professors and students of the department.”
