Kalinga University organized Football and Basketball Tournament

Raipur (thestates.news) | The Department of Physical Education successfully organized “Football and
Basketball Tournament” recently, for the students of Kalinga University. All Stars hostellers and Kalinga Team (A) won the Football and Basketball Tournament. Large numbers of students participated in both the tournaments. The
tournaments were played on knock out and League basis. 
Two Days Tournament was Inaugurated by Dr. R. Shridhar, Vice Chancellor of Kalinga University and Guest of honour was Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Dean Student Welfare (DSW). Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Director Sports in Kalinga University welcomed the participants. In his inaugural speech Dr. Shridhar, appreciated the efforts made by the department of sports. In Football 40 participants and in Basketball total 32 participants turned up for the event.  All the participants were very enthusiastic
towards the sports. There were some nail-biting finishes in most of the matches. Large numbers of spectators were present during the sports events to cheer-up the sports persons. All the thrilling matches were thoroughly enjoyed by the spectators. The event was a grand success as the participants came in huge numbers and with greater enthusiasm. Two team spirit was shown by the players who participated. It was a wonderful display of talent. They took up the challenge and gave their best when it mattered the most.
During closing ceremony Dr. R. Shridhar, congratulated the winners and distributed prizes to the winners. Medals and Trophies were distributed. The Football event was won by All Stars Hostellers and All Stars Sector boys were runner-up. Similarly, in Basketball Team Kalinga (A) was winner while Team Kalinga (C) was the runner-up.
